Description
Polyethylene (High Density Polyethylene – HDPE) is a physiologically inert plastic that makes it perfect for use in direct food contact, hygienic and wet applications. A cost-effective, robust, lightweight engineering plastic with excellent impact strength and low coefficient of friction makes it an ideal material for light to medium-duty jobs.
We stock the following grades: PE300, PE500 and PE1000.
DEMPRO PE 300 (Extruded)
This extruded grade of Polyethylene is versatile and suitable for applications that require impact and chemical resistance. This is the grade of choice for fabrication, welding or thermoforming. A low-cost alternative to pressed PE500 sheeting.
- Very good chemical resistance
- Very good wear resistance
- Low coefficient of friction
- Low specific gravity
- Suitable for welding and fabrication
- Food safe
- Maximum continuous operating temperature 80°C
- Easy to machine
- Colours: White or Black
- Rods: 8 mm to 300 mm diameter
- Very low moisture absorption (0.1% at saturation)
Applications: Cutting boards, liners for tanks, parts for the food industry, fabrication, etc
DEMPRO 500 (Pressed)
PE500-HMW or HMWPE is a pressed sheet grade of Polyethylene which has improved abrasion and impact resistance over PE300. Pressed PE500 has improved dimensional properties, which make it an ideal grade of choice for the bottling and conveying industries. Low coefficient of friction and low moisture absorption apply to this grade as well.
- Very good chemical resistance and better impact strength than PE300
- High shock resistance
- Good abrasion resistance
- Good electrical insulating properties
- Low specific gravity
- Better coefficient of friction than PE300
- Maximum continuous operating temperature 80°C
- Food safe
- Sheets : 2 mm to 130 mm thick
- Colours: Standard colours white and black. Other colours on request
- Very low moisture absorption (<0.1% at saturation)
Applications: Bottling, conveyor, food, medical, pharmaceutical and mechanical industries
DEMPRO UHMWPE/PE1000
Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMWPE) is an improvement on PE500, having an even lower coefficient of friction, abrasion and impact resistance. UHMWPE is the top choice for mechanical, food and bulk handling industries.
- Very good chemical resistance
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Superior impact strength and shock resistance
- Operates at temperatures as low as -200°C.
- Very low coefficient of friction
- Low specific gravity
- Maximum continuous operating temperature 80°C
- Easy to machine
- Widely used in dynamic applications such as conveyors, bottling and packaging machines
- Sheets : 6 mm to 80 mm thick
- Colours: Standard colour white. Other colours on request
- Virgin material is food safe
- Very low moisture absorption (<0.1% at saturation)
Applications: Wear liners for the bulk industry, bottling, conveyor, food, medical, pharmaceutical, mechanical and marine industries
DEMPRO UHMWPE Regen
Regenerated UHMWPE is an economical version of PE1000 that retains most of the essential properties of virgin UHMWPE, offering solid mechanical performance for applications where food contact approval is not required. Made from recycled materials, it maintains high impact strength, good sliding properties and excellent abrasion resistance, making it a popular choice for cost-sensitive industrial applications such as bulk material handling and mechanical wear components.
- Good wear resistance
- Good sliding properties
- UV-resistant in black
- Antistatic in black
- Colour: Green or Black
- Sheets : 3 mm to 80 mm thick
- Low-cost alternative to Virgin UHMWPE with similar benefits
- Maximum continuous operating temperature 80°C
- Widely used for machined chain guides, wear components
Applications: Wear liners for the bulk industry, bottling, conveyor, food, agricultural, mechanical, marine industries
UHMWPE profiles
DEMS is a specialist manufacturer of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHWMPE) roller chain guides, profiles and wear strips. UHWMPE chain guides extend chain life, reduce noise, friction and ultimately reduce power consumption.
