PVC – Polyvinylchloride
Category: Engineering Plastics, Laminates and Composites
Description
PVC-U (polyvinyl chloride) is an amorphous, thermoplastic, plasticiser-free plastic, also known as hard PVC. The “U” stands for “Unplasticised”, so it’s “plasticiser-free”. PVC-U is primarily characterized by its excellent chemical resistance, processability and is easy to bond.
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Good mechanical and tensile strength
- Good dielectric properties
- Can be welded and fabricated
- Easy to machine with conventional tooling
- Widely used for components in the chemical industry
- Temperature: -15°C to +60°C
- Colour: Grey
- Sheets : 1 mm to 40 mm thick
- Rods : 8 mm to 300 mm diameter
- Easy to bond
Applications: Widely used for mechanical components in the chemical industry.
